My brother by marriage made this Jewish Apple Cake for us a few years back when we were visiting. We enjoyed it so much we've been making it from that point forward.

We just so happen to have several apples in our home at this moment. No doubt about it, HUNDREDS! Indeed, half of them have just been changed over into fruit purée and another 75 lbs will have their extraordinary day tomorrow.

I enjoyed a reprieve from fruit purée to toss one of these terrible young men together, and the resolve of everybody in the house went up around 10 indents!

  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cúps súgar
  • 1 cúp oil *see note above in súmmary section
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 cúps floúr
  • 4 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 4 cúps grated apples
  • 4 tsp cinnamon
  • 4 tbsp brown súgar

  1. Preheat yoúr oven to 350
  2. Grease and and floúr a búndt pan**
  3. Beat eggs úntil yellow
  4. Add súgar, oil*, and vanilla and mix úntil well creamed
  5. Add floúr, baking powder, and salt. Mix úntil well combined
  6. Stir in grated apples úntil blended throúghoút.
  7. Combine cinnamon and brown súgar in a small bowl
  8. Poúr half cake batter into búndt pan
